New year, new job.

November 2007 - In July 2007 we reported that 19% of UK office workers - around 5.5 million - were actively looking to move jobs. Around half (51%) were keeping their eyes peeled for other job opportunities.

As 2007 was drawing to a close, we asked respondents whether they anticipated changing jobs in 2008. A staggering 49% told us that they would definitely or potentially change roles. Some 15% told us a move was definitely on the cards. This equates to around 5 million workers.

As with our previous survey, the link between happiness at work and the desire to change roles is not well established. Of those who told us they would potentially change roles in 2008, 75% said they were happy in their current job.
