Confidence for 2008

November 2007 - Our survey coincided with the media frenzy on the 'credit crunch' and a reported growing sense of unease in the UK economy. We were eager to understand whether this had any bearing on worker confidence.

A third of respondents (33%) told us they were more confident about their job prospects for 2008 compared to a year ago. Almost a quarter (24%) were less confident, with 42% reporting no change in their confidence levels.

Unsurprisingly, only 59% of those who told us they were less confident were able to say they were happy at work.

With the media continuing to debate the likelihood of a UK recession, we will return to the issue of worker confidence in future surveys.
