Who's looking for a new job?
In July 2007 we asked respondents to tell us whether they were looking for another job.
- 20% admitted that they were actively looking for another job - around 5.5 million UK workers. What is interesting is that 57% of these people claimed to be happy at work, while 43% said they were unhappy. Clearly, happy workers are not necessarily loyal. - 50% told us they had no plans to leave their current role. Of these, 7% said they were unhappy but staying put.
- 32% admitted to keeping an eye out for career opportunities. Of these, the majority claimed to be happy at work (81%), which means again that a proportion (19%) are unhappy but are not looking to change jobs.
